How do I license my trade-mark?
We strongly recommend that you speak with one of our Trade-mark Agents prior to allowing another party to use your trade-mark. The owner of a trade-mark may allow another party to use its trade-mark provided that a license agreement is in place.
A trade-mark is used to indicate a single source of ownership. If the trade-mark is used by more than one party without a license, the public can become confused as to who the true owner of the mark is.
A license agreement allows you to control the use of the mark when it is used by others approved by you. By entering into a license agreement with others, you protect the distinctiveness of the mark and the use of the mark by the licensee inures to your benefit. If you presently are allowing another party to use your trade-mark and you do not have a license agreement in place, you should contact us immediately.
